1. Children Fluor Prophylaxis and Fissure Sealants

Fluor prophylaxis is really important during development of teeth and the changing process of “milk” to permanent teeth. The growth of permanent tooth is with “cheese” structure, which means his composition is highly porpoises and not fully protected from the saliva bacteria. Fluor prophylaxis in this phase of growing of the tooth is crucial, where the fluorides allow an effective prevention of cavities:

  • They enhance the enamel resistance to acids
  • They slow down the decalcification of the enamel by the bacteria contained in the plaque
  • They favor the remineralization of the superficial enamel

Fissure sealants are the second “first aid” for new dentition tooth. The sealant forms a protective layer that keeps food and bacteria from getting stuck in the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

Resin-based fissure sealants should be applied to the permanent molars of all children as early after eruption as possible.

What does the process involve?

The process is usually quick and easy, and takes only a few minutes per tooth.

The tooth is thoroughly cleaned, prepared with a special solution, and dried. The sealant is then applied and allowed to set hard – usually by shining a blue light on it.

How long does fissure sealant last?

Sealant usually lasts for many years but needs to be checked regularly to make sure that the seal is intact.

It can wear over time, and sometimes needs to be added to or replaced to be sure that no decay can start underneath it.

2. Conservative Dentistry

Conservative dentistry is a dental field which covers the treatment and repair of the natural teeth and root canal. In conservative dentistry as well belong to the dental scaling, which is protecting the teeth of dental diseases.

What is dental caries?

Dental caries is caused by specific type of bacteria called dentin. It exists in a form of hard, dense tissue and destroys the tooth’s enamel and the layer under it.

Normally, the bacteria living in our mouth is harmful and can cause serious issues. Additionally, they build a sticky film under the teeth which is called plaque. This plaque also contains saliva, bits of food and other natural substances. It is appears in certain places like cracks, between teeth, around dental fillings, and near the gum line. With the longer existence of the dental plaque on the tooth surface, the enamel gets demineralized and the cavity (caries) is present.

The earliest symptoms that you can have are sensitive to sweet, hot or cold food or drink.

What is dental filling?

There is a certain grop of people that requires tooth fillings at some stage in their life. Once the cavity shows its presence on the tooth, it needs to be cleaned and extracted the demineralized surface, after which stay a whole that needs to be filled in. The composite resin or “white” filling is used for patients who need decay teeth restorations.

Dental fillings are composite materials which are used to seal the tooth damage with high aesthetic value. White fillings have a natural look and can be used to restore decayed, damaged or unaesthetic teeth. Dental Care Macedonia, takes excellent care and ensures that the shade and shape of your filling matches your other teeth and serves to enhance the complete look of your smile.

3. Root Canal Treatment

The basic structure of a tooth comprises a crown visible in the mouth and a root, which is covered by your gum. Inside each tooth, there is a pulp placed in the center of the tooth, called the root canal. It occupies the blood vessels and nerves that keep a tooth alive. Sometimes the pulp or tissue inside the tooth becomes infected or dies and this can lead to a toothache.

What does root canal treatment involve?

During the treatment, your tooth will be open up to the root canal where the pulp is positioned. This space is cleaned and all washed out using small instruments called files. At a second visit, a rubber based filling material called gutta-percha is placed in the root canal of the tooth.

What happened after the root filling is completed?

Once the root filling is completed, a permanent filling is placed in the tooth however, it is advisable to place a crown on the tooth in order to prevent fracture of the tooth. The dental crown essentially binds the tooth together and prevents a side wall breaking off the tooth. This does not make the tooth weaker but your bite will be normalized and you can take larger bites. Before the procedure is made, harder bites create pressure on the tooth, which continually leads to pain.

4. Dental Scaling and Root Planning

Dental scaling is a professional teeth and gum cleaning used to remove plaque and tartar from them. Scaling and root planing called a “deep cleaning” are non-surgical procedures to prevent periodontal disease.

These procedures are not taking more than one appointment in order to be finished. In addition, the action is accompanied with a local anesthetic to minimize any discomfort.

When bacterial plaque and tartar accumulate, around and under the gums, the tissues that support your teeth may be affected. Thus, the periodontal disease may cause deeper form of pockets.

When you have signs of gum disease in an advanced stadium, (bad breath, heavy tartar buildup and unhealthy pocket depths of 4mm or more), your dentist may recommend scaling and root planing in order to treat the condition.

To point out, the dental removal of plaque formation should be performed at least twice a year to keep the health of yours teeth on a high level.
